Synthpop, post-punk, a vintage vibe of Soviet electronic, and a good dose of minimal – all combined into one, brought forth by just two people. Ivan Kurochkin (Иван Курочкин) and Vitaly Talyzin (Виталий Талызин) formed Electroforez (also spelled as Elektroforez) or Электрофорез in 2012, launching with a self-titled EP, and could hardly have hailed from any other place than cultural capitol Saint Petersburg.
13 Years a Duo
The two comprise the entire band and remain a duo, with synthesizers and drum machines preventing the audience from missing anyone – neither at live performances, nor in studio productions. Here are three of their finest examples.
