Russian pop rarely produces global-sounding stars, yet Zivert emerged as precisely that – building her career in the space where Russian pop and international style intersect.
Early Life and Career
Born on 28 November 1990 in Moscow, Yulia Dmitrievna Zivert entered music relatively late: her first singles, Чак and Анестезия, appeared only in 2017, after earlier work in floristry, fashion, and even as a flight attendant.
Breakthrough with “Life” (2018)
Things took off with the 2018 hit Life, which topped the charts and launched her into widespread fame. What exactly revealed itself at this moment is open to interpretation: a sudden turn of fate, or Yulia’s own determination to make up for lost time. “Life” not only featured an English title and introduction, the song itself was immediately accessible to Western listeners. In many ways, it seemed calibrated for international success and designed to transform her career permanently, which it ultimately did.

International Sound and Influences
Zivert’s sound often feels closer to the global synth-pop and disco revival than to the traditional Russian take on it. Her background reflects a similar cross-cultural versatility: she was born to a father of Ukrainian and Romani descent and a mother of German and Polish heritage, and has lived in Odessa (Ukraine) as well as on Bali. Part of her appeal lies in how naturally her music fits into the international pop landscape.
Fashion, Image, and Visual Style
Her experience in fashion and visual aesthetics has strongly shaped the Zivert image – from stylized music videos to work as a cosmetics brand ambassador. These carefully constructed visuals reinforce the sense of a complete pop persona, now widely regarded as one of the leading contemporary Russian pop-dance performers.

Health Challenges and New Music (2024-2025)
In February 2024, her life took another unexpected turn when serious health problems forced her to cancel concerts for six months. She continued appearing as a mentor on Голос (The Voice) and remained musically active, releasing Банк in 2025 in collaboration with Icegergert, which became a major hit.

(I Want More, 2018)
Let's not think about anything
Except for our planet
Let's drown in unison
Along with our secret
Song lyrics
(Three Days of Love, 2022)
Three days of love, and there's no saving us
We'll hide behind the curtains everything that is unfair to forget
Song lyrics
Choose yourself, selfish girl
Why not live for yourself a little?
Selfish
Always choose yourself
Song lyrics
(Bank, 2025)
It's like I am a bank,
but I don't save up, plus
My queen beats the ace
Song lyrics Банк
